Jew dating a jew
When asked which she liked better, Christmas or Chanukah, one little girl responded, "Christmas but you promise you wont tell my daddy?" Think about it: what are the chances that this little girl will develop into a strong, self-confident young woman? She had introduced me to her family and they like me and let me come to their house.I however have kept her a "secret" from my very Jewish mother, and my girlfriend is now getting on me to tell my mom about her and even let her meet my mother. Not only will I assume you're an asshat, I'm going to think you're an uneducated one too. You know when you go out of your way to recycle and do good other things and you're like What you did is called a mitzvah and Jews are commanded to do them by the Torah. It is my job as a Jew to live life to the fullest in all ways and I take that responsibility very seriously, man.13. Maybe it's the fact I've had someone call me something terrible because of my religion in the past or maybe it is just what I've been taught from a young age, but when I have my people, I'm with them for good. Jewish food is delicious when done right and, again, by "right" I mean exactly the way it was prepared for me each holiday growing up. Though you may be astounded by how many ways things that happened this year can be related back to the summer of 2007, remember my fondness for camp is rooted in my unbreakable fondness for tradition and my love of all things family. …And your trip to Israel was probably great too but it wasn't as great as her Birthright trip. And there's a major red line you cross when you call someone a JAP.
Dear Rabbi Boteach, How do you tell an Orthodox Jewish mother that you are dating a Catholic girl?
What's the easiest way I can go about telling my mother about my girlfriend without giving her a complete heart attack? I hope you have heard of the movie "Mission: Impossible," because you are now starring in Tom Cruise's role.
--Worried Dear Worried, Firstly, forgive me for my strong opinions on this subject. Simply stated, there is no easy way to introduce your mother to your non-Jewish girlfriend, because doing so will confirm to your mother her failure in instilling within you a desire to make Jewish choices in life, to build a Jewish home, and to raise Jewish children.
I am a Jewish man who was raised Orthodox, but am not currently practicing.
I am involved in a relationship with a Catholic girl who I love spending time with.
